Luxury large Allium Christophii Greeting Card printed with fine art detailed painting of an Allium Christophii flower from one of my original watercolour paintings.
This particular Allium has huge flower heads which never fail to impress.

Alliums, (ornamental onions) come in wide range of sizes and shades of blue, purple, white and yellow. Also known as Star of Persia the flower heads of Allium Christophii are amazing, growing up to 12 inches across.Even when the plants die back, the dried flower heads look impressive in the garden. I like to cut some of the flower heads and display them in a vase indoors.

Bulbs are planted in early Autumn for flowers in late spring early summer.

A difficult subject to draw due to the complexity of the structure I spent many hours on the original painting of this card and choosing the best materials.
